Dear alumni and friends,

This past year has gone by so quickly! I wanted to update all our alumni and friends on some standout events that have happened in the history and political science department as we look back on 2024. From retired Maj. Gen. Samuel "Bo" Mahaney joining us as a lecturer to teach in our new national security emphasis area, to Dr. Alanna Krolikowski being named our new Lawrence O. Christensen Fellow of history and political science, we have too much news to share in one email. Below are just a few highlights from the past year.

The department would love to be in contact with our alumni more frequently. We have a new section on the department website dedicated to connecting with alumni who wish to volunteer, network and mentor current students. Visit history.mst.edu/alumniresources to see all the ways you can help the next generation of Miner historians.

We want to feature more of our alumni in upcoming publications, so feel free to connect with us on our new website page or on Facebook. If you have an achievement or other feedback to share, contact us by emailing hist-ps@mst.edu.

Hope you are having a great start to the New Year, and I hope to see you at St. Pat’s in March!

Sincerely,

Shannon Fogg, Ph.D.
Chair, History and Political Science

Support the history and political science department

In history and political science, students learn to ask the questions that matter most. For many, the first step on their learning journey is scholarship support.

We hope you’ll consider a scholarship gift to help expand the department's impact. Your support will honor the great teaching Missouri S&T provides, helping our future leaders make history.
