Alexandra Gast - new communications and promotions manager for Student Success to begin Jan. 6
|
Hello all! My name is Alexandra Gast, and I am thrilled to be joining the team

at Missouri S&T. My passion for building community through communications and marketing stems from my rural upbringing on a diversified livestock operation in Southwest Missouri. Growing up, I fell in love with learning about others' stories and shining a spotlight on the agriculture industry. I attended the University of Missouri – Columbia, where I earned my undergraduate degree in agricultural education and leadership. I am currently completing my graduate studies in plant sciences, with an emphasis on marketing and communications.
Previously, I worked as the communications and outreach specialist for Missouri Farmers Care, where I led marketing campaigns and developed educational resources for initiatives such as Missouri Hogs for Hunger and the St. Louis Cardinals' Race to the Plate. While the agriculture industry may not have an obvious connection to STEM education and degree programs, I am confident that my experience will enable me to support the Division of Student Success in meaningful ways. My efforts will focus on fostering student achievement, advancing organizational goals, and building vibrant, engaged communities among faculty, staff and students.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on hobbies that keep me grounded and inspired — golfing, reading and baking. I am excited to meet everyone in the coming months, share experiences, and build strong working relationships with each of you. In the meantime, happy holidays, and go Miners!
