Dear alumni, students, faculty and staff:
|
|
|
Happy New Year! I'm energized and excited, and hope we will collaborate to make a positive impact for Kummer College in 2025.
I want to acknowledge a few 2024 success stories that are highlighted below. Congratulations to all of our December graduates, including Dr. Ademola Adesokan as our first graduated I&E Doctoral Fellow. Congratulations to Dr. Mahelet Fikru, Dr. Hanqing “Chevy” Fang, Dr. Nobuyuki Fukawa and Dr. Cecil Chua for recognition of their recent outstanding achievements. I admit that I was intrigued to learn the definition of "ubichronic time" that Dr. Chua explains in his recent work.
My first semester at S&T was a whirlwind in getting to know the wonderful people and their unique roles, skills and perspectives. You have helped me to understand the infrastructure and many organizational units constituting our ecosystem. I've been very impressed with the myriad of connections with alumni and corporate and government partnerships. Our faculty are not only impressive scholars, but they are caring mentors and effective team members who help manage relationships with campus peers, employers of our graduates and their scholarly societies and associations.
Thanks to all who have welcomed me aboard. I look forward to working to accentuate our strengths, and to lead the growth of new connections that are innovative, entrepreneurial and will help all S&T stakeholders contribute to economic development.

Congratulations, graduates!

"The Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellowship program is one of the best things that ever happened to me. I want to go into academia for a few years, then fully into entrepreneurship, which is where the program really helped me. A startup is the way! If you like your freedom to study what you love and if you want to make an impact, the Kummer I&E Fellowship program is the way to go."
—Dr. Ademola Adesokan, first I&E Fellow graduate
