Consistency is key when producing ultra-high-temperature ceramic parts for hypersonic vehicles. Missouri S&T researchers are collaborating in an Air Force-funded project to make ceramics as consistent as fast-food fries.

Hidden dangers from EV fires »

 

Electric vehicles release highly toxic gases when they catch fire, and the fire is hard to stop. Missouri S&T is developing preparation and mitigation standards to help firefighters know what to do when EVs catch fire.

Emma Puetz, a geology junior, discovered a triceratops frill (bony collar behind the dinosaur’s head) as the clock was winding down on her work at a Montana field school.
