Dear alumni, students, faculty and staff:
There are many uses for the word “scale.” The St. Patrick faithful scale the Croagh Patrick mountain in Ireland and the snakes he banished were covered with scales. But we Miners know of scaling perhaps best as the verb “to rise in a graduated series.”

In Kummer College, we talk about scaling our production, our venture, or our ecosystem. Each Oct. 9 we celebrate Kummer Day and this year, as Chancellor Mo Dehghani reported on progress across S&T that benefited from the generosity of Fred and June Kummer, we also considered the potential for scaling our Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.
As part of Kummer Day, we hosted our Innovation Ecosystem Design Inaugural Summit. I invite you to read more about this successful event and other college highlights below.

Missouri S&T hosted its fourth annual Kummer Day on Oct. 9 in celebration of June and Fred’s transformative gift to the university. As an annual tradition, Chancellor Mo Dehghani read a progress report in the form of a letter during the Kummer Day luncheon. Dr. Ugochukwu Ewuzie, shown above, spoke about his experiences as a Kummer Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Doctoral Fellow during the event. Throughout the day, I&E fellows gave presentations about their research. The day’s events concluded with Kummer College’s Innovation Ecosystem Inaugural Summit.
