Dear alumni, students, faculty and staff:

I've been at S&T for 15 months, and I truly enjoy working with the people here while supporting the purpose of this institution. As we hold the grand opening of our new Welcome Center this Homecoming weekend, I share great pride in being part of Missouri's premier R1 STEM-oriented land-grant university.

Kummer College is just getting started — and we are growing both our undergraduate management and business offerings, as well as our graduate programs that prepare leaders of the future. Our programs are accredited by the AACSB and by ABET, offering valued degrees that are an attractive option for students from many backgrounds. We embed an entrepreneurial mindset in our curriculum and culture. This creative ability to think like a rainmaker will likely become more important as the nature of many jobs changes.

In other words, our graduates, who benefit from our strong industry connections, may need to become even more nimble and adaptive in being self-starters. We are poised for success. Let's make it happen!

Sincerely,

Signed James D. Sterling

"I love working with interdisciplinary teams to solve real-world hard problems to make the world a better place," Canfield says.

Alumnus shoutout

Sam Wright, a business management systems alumnus, completed a photography internship at Rocket over the summer.

"I left with an entirely new level of curiosity, adaptability and creative range," he says.

In the future, Wright hopes to use his entrepreneurial drive open his own creative production company, most likely in St. Louis.
