A civil engineering alumnus has established a $300 million foundation to support S&T. It’s the largest single gift to higher education in Missouri history and one of the largest to a public university in the nation.
An S&T chemical engineering alumnus has given $10 million to the chemical and biochemical engineering department, which will use the gift to develop an intensified focus on biochemical engineering.
The Clayco Advanced Construction and Materials Laboratory adds space for research on sustainable, cost-effective and green solutions to infrastructure challenges.
Excessive groundwater pumping can cause land subsidence and put infrastructure, groundwater storage and drinking water at risk. S&T researchers are using machine learning to predict subsidence and help policy officials plan.
Researchers at S&T hold a wealth of expertise in natural resource exploration and extraction as well as in critical and strategic minerals, so the university stands at the forefront of space resource exploration.
