I announced yesterday to our Fall 2020 graduating class that we are postponing our fall commencement ceremonies and will host a virtual celebration due to the global health pandemic.
As a recent graduate, you received a similar message from me six months earlier. You may recall my promise to hold an in-person event once it is safe to do so. That is still my intention. However, we do not know when large events will be safe again and cannot realistically set a date at this time.
Commencement is an important milestone for every university student and their loved ones. Although you are an alumnus now, I look forward to the day when we can celebrate your accomplishments in grand fashion.
