Dear alumni, friends and colleagues,

I am deeply honored to greet you as the new interim chair of GGPE. It is a pleasure to return to my home department of 17 years after a rewarding year serving as S&T’s interim chair of computer science. The experience I gained in that role has enriched my understanding of leadership, and I am eager to apply this knowledge in the service of GGPE.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jeff Cawlfield, our outgoing chair, for his outstanding leadership and significant contributions to our department. His passion, dedication and vision have left an enduring legacy upon which we will continue to build.

GGPE is renowned for our scholars’ expertise and the impressive work of our students and alumni. Your commitment to our department and your success in the field truly inspires our students to strive for a meaningful impact post-graduation. As we forge ahead, one of our key goals will be to grow our student enrollment and expand our research portfolio, further enhancing the reputation and impact of our department.

We are soon to embark on our annual Phonathon, which is a significant event in our calendar. This event is not merely a fundraiser; it represents an opportunity to reconnect, engage and renew our shared commitment to the department's future. You will likely receive a phone call for this, but it is also possible to donate online with the link below.
