Dear alumni, friends and colleagues,

I welcome you to academic year 2022-23!

Two years ago, we took a huge step forward when Linda and Bipin Doshi made their remarkable $10 million gift. Their generosity gave our department a new name – the Doshi Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering – and a permanent foundation for growth through faculty, fellowship and equipment endowments.

We continued to grow our research and promote faculty and student success in the past year. Our research expenditures exceeded $1 million, a new record that demonstrates our increasing scholarly activities. Our chemical engineering graduate program moved up to 87 in rankings compiled by U.S. News & World Report. The department developed a new graduate certificate program in carbon management engineering. Our Industrial Advisory Council and Academy of Chemical Engineers launched a $1 million fundraising campaign to further the department’s excellence in scholarship, education and research.

I am thrilled about what we have accomplished in the past year. I sincerely invite you to continue supporting us to sustain our competitiveness in education and research.

With warm regards,

Phonathon calling soon

The annual support that we receive from our alumni and friends does much to enhance the education given to our students. In the coming weeks, you will get a telephone call from a student. We hope that you take this chance to hear more about campus happenings and to give in support of our educational mission. We appreciate your sustained interest and support.
