New Parking Operations System
Dear Missouri S&T employees,
We are pleased to announce an exciting update to our parking operations that will enhance and simplify your parking experience on campus. Guided by user feedback and in collaboration with the Parking Committee, parking operations transitioned to a new operating system, AIMS, on Thursday, Feb. 13. This system update will bring several improvements, including changes to parking permits, renewals and enforcement.
Key changes to parking operations
- A new, user-friendly website and parking portal
- Faculty and staff permits will automatically renew each year
- No need for annual re-registration
- To request or cancel a parking permit, please visit parking.mst.edu/facultyandstaff
- Employee parking tickets will be deducted directly from payroll if not paid or resolved within 14 days
- License plate must face the driving lane of the parking lot
License plate recognition
The new system introduces license plate recognition technology for parking management. Your license plate will now serve as your parking permit. Cameras mounted on parking vehicles will scan license plates for enforcement purposes. Citations will be issued via email for permit holders, and paper citations will be provided to campus visitors. Please note, permit hang tags will be phased out by June 30, 2025.
ACTION Required: What you need to do now
Your current vehicle information in the parking portal will automatically transition to the new operating system. To ensure a smooth transition, all parking permit holders should verify and update their vehicle license plate information in the parking portal as soon as possible.
Steps to update your vehicle details in the current parking portal:
- Log into the parking portal
- Click on “Vehicles” on the left side of your screen
- Confirm that your vehicle and license plate details are correct. AIMS allows up to three vehicles per account.
- Temporary replacement: For short-term replacements (e.g., rental vehicles)
- Permanent replacement: For long-term replacements (e.g., new vehicle or plates)
- Remove from permits: To remove outdated vehicle or plate information
- If you encounter any issues updating your vehicle details, please reach out to parking operations via email for assistance.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact the parking operations team. We appreciate your cooperation during this transition.
Sincerely,
Parking Operations Team Missouri S&T
