Expanding Your Horizon: October 13, 2023 (7th-8th grade). Registration is full.

The Kummer Center for STEM Education will be bringing Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) back again on October 13, 2023.  EYH is an event we have held on campus for many years.  This event will highlight significant achievements made by women in STEM. We do this through engaging sessions in the form of keynote speakers, workshops, activities, tours, and demos around campus.  Please help us show off S&T and put us in the forefront of these young minds!
STEM Day: November 8, 2023 (6th–12th grade). Registration is full.

National STEM Day is on November 8th. The Kummer Center for STEM Education brings around 1,000 middle and high schools students on campus for this special day. Our mission is to ignite the STEM spark in these students and show them what a future as a STEM professional could mean for them. We do this with the help of the S&T departments. We accomplish this through exciting workshops, demos, tours, etc... that these students can attend in order to get them excited about STEM! This was a huge success last year and we plan for an even better experience in 2023!
Education Day with Athletics: December 18, 2023 (K-6th grade)

Join the Kummer Center for STEM Education and Miner Athletics at the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building for a day of sports and science!  The STEM Center will provide exciting hands-on activities, there will be a chance to participate in a challenge at the half-time show, and students will get to cheer on our stellar S&T college basketball team.
National Engineering Week: February 22, 2024 (7th–12th grade)

Missouri S&T is known for our vast number of high caliber Engineering Departments.  The Kummer Center for STEM Education teams up with these departments on this day to allow middle and high school students to engage and experience the variety of opportunities there behind the word “Engineer”.  To make this happen, the departments will take students on tours, do demonstrations, offer hands-on activities, and provide workshops to show exactly what they do.

The Kummer Center for STEM Education is dedicated to kids. We believe that young, engaged minds are the best path to a bright future. We want students of all ages to know that they should shoot for the stars. In this space themed field trip we bring high level STEM experience to an elementary level. Our departments come together to offer what they do in a way a young mind can engage in. This is done through fascinating hands-on activities and exciting demonstrations.
